First Time Playing Disc Golf

Disc Golf... Frisbee Golf... Whatever you'd like to call it. Obviously, I am not very educated about this sport! Michael enjoys it and used to play often. He has even helped a friend build a course, including making the baskets himself. If you want to learn more about disc golf, read this entry in Wikipedia.

Anyway, it was gorgeous outside yesterday, and we LOVE being outdoors! So, we loaded up and headed over to the the closest disc golf course at a local park. I wore Quinn in my baby wrap, bought for me by Michael and made by a fellow Etsian, bronwenhandcrafted (see photo). I didn't play, but followed the boys with Quinn and camera in tow.

Seth had played disc golf before, but it was also Aaron and Jacob's first time on a disc golf course too. They did great. We all had a lot of fun! Even Quinn, who was deliriously sleepy, laughed at the boys every time they threw their disc. I had to rush off to work my evening shift, arriving to work sweaty and exhausted. Carrying around a 25 pound baby was a great workout! I just love family time outdoors! For more pictures, visit our Flickr site here. Mosaic created using Big Huge Labs' Mosaic Maker.

Looks like fun - my husband loves to play!

The Basics

Michael and Talina Ripper met online and when they met in person, they knew they had found something special, a once in a lifetime love. Michael obtained BFAs in both Wood Design and Ceramics from ECU. Talina has always been a creative/artistic spirit, but has her BSN from ETSU and still works as an RN. Talina has three sons, Seth (17), Aaron (8), and Jacob (7). Michael and Talina have a son together, Quinn, who is 17 months. They are getting settled in their downtown loft just around the corner from Michael's studio and the gallery. Their dream of living their art is coming true!
